Look, I don't want to throw a bucket of water on the latest postseason incarnation of the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry, but somebody has to point this out: The last two times these teams played in October, things got a wee bit out of hand.
Tempers flared. Fists flew. A beloved bench coach went tumbling on the turf. Criminal charges were filed. That last one is not hyperbole, folks.
Charges. Were. Filed.
And that's just the shenanigans that happened outside the lines. Managers lost their minds. The games lasted forever. An All-Star third baseman tried to play patty-cakes while running the bases but no one else was playing.
