Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox: Pitching rotation all hinges on Masahiro Tanaka

NEW YORK — The Yankees host the Boston Red Sox this week starting Monday for four games, the last home series of the season. (New York finishes the season with three games in Baltimore.)

But the Yankees' pitching rotation, for now, is in flux.

Masahiro Tanaka's status is still unclear after straining his hamstring 10 days ago and beyond Monday, the Yankees have no starter listed.

Joe Girardi said Sunday that the cutoff for Tanaka to make a start is this Thursday since they want him to pitch the Wild Card game Tuesday, October 6.
