Red Sox reliever Joe Kelly was back in uniform Wednesday afternoon after serving a six-game suspension for plunking the Yankees’ Tyler Austin back on April 11 — sparking the latest in a long line of Bosox-Bombers brawls.
But Kelly was anything but absent during his absence.
As NESN, the Red Sox’s TV network, reported, the right-hander took in all of his team’s games while he was on the shelf — including Sunday’s 4-3 comeback win over the Rays, when he wound up roaming the stands to mingle and snap selfies with Fenway fans.
“I was in the suite and we weren’t getting any runs and we were losing so I moved and went out to the bleachers,’’ Kelly told WEEI.
