The Yankees have shipped RHP Nick Goody to the Indians for cash considerations or a player to be named later, the team announced in a tweet earlier.
The 25-year-old was designated for assignment in order to make room for Aroldis Chapman. Goody tossed 29 innings for the Yankees in 2016, while compiling a 4.66 ERA. He has enjoyed some success at the minor league level, but hasn’t been able to put it all together in the big leagues yet.
Goody will be joining a Cleveland bullpen that ranked fourth in ERA last year, 12 spots better than the Yankees (per ESPN), who ranked sixteenth.
