NASHVILLE - The Yankees traded a hard-throwing lefthanded reliever Wednesday, but it wasn't the one you'd think.
Justin Wilson was shipped off to Detroit for minor-league righthanders Luis Cessa and Chad Green, adding much-needed rotation depth at Triple-A.
"You see the way the value of starting pitching is in the marketplace; it's an area of weakness for us," general manager Brian Cashman said.
"We have some guys in the rotation that obviously have issues. It's an area I need to try to address. This made enough sense to move a high piece that we like in Wilson, but we like the two pieces we're getting back.
