The Yankees are hopeful Aaron Hicks (oblique) will be back by the time they open their series in Boston on Tuesday, but in the meantime, they continue to collect outfielders to add depth.
A day after they claimed Trayce Thompson off waivers from the Dodgers and sent him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, the Yankees traded for Cody Asche from the Royals in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations and sent him to SWB, as well.
Asche also plays third base, but he spent 57 games in left field for the Phillies in 2016.
