The Yankees are clearing space.
Caleb Frare, a lefty relief pitcher in Triple-A, was dealt to the White Sox on Sunday, two days before the trade deadline, for $1.5 million in international signing money, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed.
Between this trade and Saturday’s, which sent Chasen Shreve and Giovanny Gallegos to St. Louis, the Yankees have accrued $2.5 million to allocate to international signings.
Frare, who spent all but one game this season at Double-A Trenton, notched a 0.81 ERA with 58 strikeouts in 44 2/3 innings this year between the two levels.
