Is this heaven? No, it’s Iowa. That’s what the Yankees, White Sox, and 8,000 lucky fans will come to find out on August 13, 2020, when Major League Baseball constructs a temporary field close to the one where “Field of Dreams” was shot way back in 1989.
According to MLB, fans attending the game will begin their journey at the ballfield that Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones once made famous, before traveling along a path cut through the middle of a lush cornfield.
In a similar way to the film in which players of the past made their way out of the corn to a pristine baseball diamond, those in attendance will be greeted by a brand new 8,000 seat stadium that will echo Comisky Park — home of the White Sox from 1910 to 1990.
