Yankees To Hold Pregame Ceremony For A-Rod’s 3,000th Hit

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Alex Rodriguez’s relationship with the New York Yankees has come a long way.

The once-embattled slugger will be honored by the Bombers during a pregame ceremony Sept. 13 celebrating his 3,000th hit. In a statement, the team said fans in attendance for the game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium should plan to be in their seats by 12:30 p.m.

Rodriguez apologized to the Yankees in February after serving a yearlong drug suspension, which forced him to miss the entire 2014 season. But his relationship with the club still appeared to be on shaky footing after a lengthy, litigious and combative appeals process.
