NEW YORK — Win or lose, there’s always some interesting things going on in Yankees land.
Wednesday brought sadness with the death of a beloved former coach and then elation with another comeback win, this one courtesy of a ninth-inning, walk-off homer by Giancarlo Stanton that beat the Seattle Mariners 7-5 at sold-out-again at Yankee Stadium.
The Yankees will go for a sweep of the Mariners on Thursday when ace Luis Severino shoots for his 11th win opposing tough Seattle lefty James Paxton, who already has thrown a no-hitter this season.
