The Yankees got a victory over the Royals, a solid start from Sonny Gray and picked up veteran lefty J.A. Happ on Thursday, but what was shaping up as a good day took a turn when Aaron Judge had to leave the 7-2 win after being plunked in the right wrist.
Judge, who was the Yankees’ DH, initially stayed in the game after getting drilled by a Jakob Junis 93 mph fastball in the first inning. He subsequently scored the Yankees’ first run, then reached on an infield single in the third, but left in the fourth for a pinch hitter.
