As Didi Gregorius takes steps toward returning, you knew the good Yankees injury vibes couldn’t last too long.
Righty reliever Jake Barrett is the latest to go down, placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday, retroactive to Thursday, with right elbow inflammation. The Yankees recalled righty reliever Joe Harvey to replace Barrett.
Barrett had been recently recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre but had not entered a game since his summon. In three major league innings this season, he’s given up six runs.
Harvey has a 5.40 ERA in 8 1/3 innings with the Yankees this season.
