Looks like Gleyber Torres will get taste of a new position
DETROIT — Gleyber Torres spent most of his time in the minors at shortstop and played there for the first three games of this season with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, and now he appears set to make his debut there for the Yankees in the nightcap of Monday’s doubleheader against the Tigers.
Aaron Boone said Monday morning at Comerica Park that he planned to give Didi Gregorius the second game off, and with Ronald Torreyes with SWB, Torres is next in line at the position.
The manager said his confidence level in Torres at short was “high.
