Yankees set new franchise record for homers in a single-season

Well, that didn’t take long. Just one season removed from setting the all-time record for most home runs hit by a club in a single-season, the 2019 Yankees broke the mark in Sunday night’s 10-5 win over the Red Sox.

In total, the Yanks hit three home runs at Fenway on the opening day of the NFL season. Aaron Judge bashed his 21st, Gleyber Torres hit his team-leading 35th and Mike Tauchman slugged his 13th.

Although the Twins have already set a new all-time MLB record, having slugged 275 longballs this season, there are still three full weeks to play — so it’s entirely possible the Yanks pass Minnesota for total dingers.
