The Yankees’ injury outlook got gloomier on Monday afternoon. During his pregame press conference, Aaron Boone revealed that Luis Severino experienced a setback in his rehab. Boone explained that Severino “didn’t feel great” while having a catch, so the team will send him for another MRI tomorrow.
Severino, 24, was diagnosed with rotator cuff tendinitis in his right shoulder on March 5th. He missed the entirety of Grapefruit League play, but the team believed he could return in the first half of the season. This seems to throw a wrench into those plans.
