Earlier today, the Yankees placed Gary Sanchez on the injured list with a calf strain. Just when you think they couldn’t possibly have any more bad injury news, they never fail to rise to the occasion. Dellin Betances pitched in a simulated game yesterday and it reportedly did not go well. He is being sent for another MRI.
Betances, 31, started the season on the injured list with a shoulder issue. He had a late start to spring training due to the birth of his child. It made sense for him to lag behind the other pitchers for awhile, but his velocity never got up to where it should be and his lack of strength was cause for concern.
