MIAMI — Didi Gregorius’ bruised left heel is improving, according to Yankees manager Aaron Boone, but not quickly enough for the shortstop to avoid being placed on the disabled list.
“Hopefully [his stay] is short — the next couple of days will really tell us the picture. He is better [Tuesday] than [Monday],’’ Boone said of Gregorius, who injured his foot in a collision at first base on Sunday when he got tangled up with Blue Jays first baseman Kendrys Morales.
“He is scheduled to see the doctor [Wednesday] night and we will have a little better idea of where he is at.
