A Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday said 47 percent of New Jersey baseball fans cheer for the New York Yankees, more than those who back the Philadelphia Phillies (20 percent) and New York Mets (18 percent) combined.
Murphy's favorite baseball team, the Yankees' arch-rival Boston Sox, was fourth with 3 percent.
"When New Jersey baseball fans sing, 'Take me out to the ball game,' they are more often than not talking about going to Yankee Stadium," said Peter A.
