Meet the Dominican Bombers.
The Dominican Summer League Yankees annihilated the DSL Twins, 38-2, behind a season-high nine doubles and five home runs on Wednesday.
All eleven Yankee batters had at least two hits, while three tied for a game-high four.
The Twins went through seven pitchers, including one who gave up 11 runs — 10 earned — in 1.1 innings. The Yankees’ Mauro Bonifacio, a 17-year-old right-fielder, homered, doubled twice and singled, and scored five times.
The bloodbath are the norm in the DSL, where the Rays beat the Indians/Brewers, 20-4, on the same day.
