LONDON — Right-hander Deivi Garcia, who has dominated at Single-A and Double-A, is the only Yankee to be selected to the All-Star Futures Game, to be played July 7 at Cleveland.
The 20-year-old, who is 5-foot-9 and weighs 163 pounds, is 4-4 with a 2.78 ERA in a combined 13 games for Tampa and Trenton. In 64 ²/u2083 innings, Garcia has struck out 109 and walked just 30.
An NL talent evaluator this past week called Garcia the Yankees’ best overall prospect.
Each Yankee and Red Sox player received $60,000 for making the trip to London, but that wasn’t the only perk.
