CLEVELAND — Chad Green doesn’t have the résumés belonging to Aroldis Chapman, Dellin Betances and David Robertson. However, in a lot of ways he has been just as good this season and a major reason the Yankees’ bullpen is considered the best in baseball.
Yet, no pitcher is infallible, and Green met his match Sunday at Progressive Field, where Michael Brantley started the eighth with a towering home run to right that helped the Indians get by the Yankees, 5-2, in front of 32,644 sun-baked customers.
Green also gave up two more runs in the eighth that provided the Indians’ questionable bullpen a three-run bulge to work with in the ninth.
