This game did not play out how you might expect. Actually, it played out exactly how you might expect in one sense. The Yankees never trailed, scored a bunch of runs and were never in any real danger. That said, it was a different sort of easy win than we’ve seen in other Orioles games.
Home runs have done the most damage for the Yankees in their 15 other wins against Baltimore this season. This game proved different in that the Yankees only hit one of them. DJ LeMahieu went yard on the very first pitch, but after that, the Bombers just bludgeoned Baltimore to death with non-dingers.
