Yankees reach deal with Troy Tulowitzki

The Yankees have a new shortstop.

The team agreed to deal with former Blue Jay Troy Tulowitzki, according to ESPN. He is expected to fill in at shortstop as Didi Gregorius works his way back from Tommy John surgery. The move does not take free agent Manny Machado out of play for the Yankees, according to ESPN.

Tulowitzki was releases by Toronto in December. The Blue Jays are paying the remainder of his $20 million salary, so the five-time All-Star will earn the MLB minimum with the Yankees. He missed all of 2018 because of ankle surgery and play just 66 games in 2017 because of ankle and hamstring issues.
