Four days after the first wave of September call-ups, the Yankees are summoning further reinforcements. They aren’t the most exciting names to most fans, but they should still play a role on the team in this pivotal month.
The slightly more recognizable player of the two is Bryan Mitchell, who will only now be making his 2016 debut. Way back in spring training, Mitchell dominated with 15 2⁄3 innings of 0.57 ERA ball, but a fluky broken toe suffered while covering first base on the last day of camp just about destroyed his season.
