Popular with teammates and productive when he plays, Ronald Torreyes rejoined the Yankees on Monday night when they hosted the Mets at Yankee Stadium.
It is the 5-foot-8, 155-pound utility infielder’s third tour with the Yankees this year. After spending the entire 2016 and 2017 seasons in the majors and appearing in 180 games, Torreyes was sent to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in late May after playing in 24 games for the Yankees this year.
As he has been since joining the Yankees in spring training of 2016, Torreyes was productive, hitting .323. He surfaced in the big leagues for two games in June and sent out again.
