Stephen Drew’s mysterious illness is not getting better, and according the Joe Girardi, the Yankees are planning as if the second baseman won’t return this season.
Drew said Sunday he’s been battling dizziness the past two-and-a-half weeks, explaining why he’s only started one game since Sept. 13. But the cause of that dizziness remains unclear — it could be related to illness, a possible concussion or both.
Drew underwent more tests on Tuesday, Girardi said, and the team is waiting to see those results.
“We haven’t seen really any improvement for these 10 days,” Girardi said.
