The injury bug bit the Yankees again last night. Recently-acquired outfielder Tim Locastro tore his ACL on Saturday night making a nice catch in the first inning against the Red Sox. It didn’t seem that bad at first, as he stayed in the game for the rest of the frame, but he departed soon afterward and an MRI confirmed the worst. Locastro’s Yankees career may be over already after just nine games, as he’s out for the season.
To take Locastro’s roster spot, the Yankees dipped into their pool of Triple-A outfielders yet again.
