The Yankees suffered another blow to their pitching staff. The team announced on Sunday morning that Domingo German landed on the injured list with a strained left hip flexor. As a corresponding move, Stephen Tarpley was recalled from Triple-A.
German, 26, had been the Yankees’ best starter in 2019. He posted a 3.86 ERA with a 4.03 FIP, although those numbers had been inflated due to a series of poor starts dating back to May 26. One has to wonder if this is when German’s hip began to act up.
