NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Yankees first baseman Chris Parmelee, who made a sudden impact in the lineup this week, was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a right hamstring strain, the team announced.
In his first start as a Yankee on Wednesday, Parmelee hit two homers in a 12-6 win over the Los Angeles Angels. He was 1-for-3 with an RBI on Thursday when he injured himself stretching for a throw at first base.
In just eight at-bats, Parmelee, 28, was hitting .500 with two homers and four RBIs.
