So much for Carlos Beltran feeling better.
The right fielder was placed on the 15-day disabled list before Friday’s game against the Rays at Yankee Stadium with a left oblique strain.
Beltran left Tuesday’s game after he felt pain in his rib area while fouling a ball off and didn’t play Wednesday, but said there was improvement.
But after undergoing an MRI exam Thursday, he was placed on the DL and Ramon Flores was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
In addition, the Yankees sent down OF Taylor Dugas and recalled infielder Gregorio Petit from SWB.
The injury will be a blow to the Yankees’ lineup.
