Yankees’ pitching, defense, offense all bad in 9-3 loss to Marlins

The Yankees have struggled to beat up on weaker teams all season, and that remained true tonight. Pitching was bad, defense was sloppy, and the offense failed to get much going at the plate. They had a chance to wrap up the season series against the Marlins with a two-game sweep, but had to settle for a split once again.

Nothing too exciting happened through the first five innings of the game. Inexplicably, the Yankees managed just ONE hit off of Trevor Richards during that time. In the fourth, Aaron Hicks worked a walk, and Neil Walker hit an RBI double to put New York on the board.
