The New York Yankees and starting pitcher Luis Severino have agreed to a multi-year deal, sources have confirmed to ESPN.
The New York Post first reported the agreement.
The deal is reportedly a four-year, $40 million contract extension that includes a fifth-year club option, a league source tells ESPN. The deal will buy out four years of arbitration and potentially one free agent season. The deal can max out at $52.5 million over five years. If the Yankees exercise the $15 million option, Severino will hit the open market at 29 years old.
