The Yankees made a series of roster moves on Thursday morning, including one that comes as a big surprise. The team announced that they optioned Miguel Andujar, Nick Nelson, and Thairo Estrada to the alternate site in Scranton.
Andujar, 25, appeared in five games, going 1-for-14. His transition to a multi-position player has been rocky, as he struggled to adapt to left field. He also couldn’t find regular at-bats, so perhaps this isn’t the worst news for him. Just two years ago he hit .297/.328/.527 with 27 home runs (130 wRC+).
