Yankees’ Opening Day roster coming into focus

JUPITER, Fla. — Aaron Boone called it a “very good possibility” that both Greg Bird and Luke Voit are on the Opening Day 25-man roster. Brian Cashman said Tyler Wade “probably makes the club.”

So with good health — a rising issue currently with the Yankees — their roster for March 28 against the Orioles is coming into focus.

Wade left Wednesday’s game with tight hips, but Boone reported Thursday that he was doing fine. Bird was hit on his right elbow by a pitch Wednesday. He was supposed to play first base Thursday against the Cardinals, but instead was sent to Tampa for X-rays after showing up to work with it feeling stiff.
