As expected, the Yankees have officially called up top pitching prospect Luis Severino from Triple-A Scranton, the team announced. He’ll start and make his Major League debut tonight. Righty reliever Nick Rumbelow was send down to Triple-A following last night’s game to clear a 25-man roster spot and Danny Burawa was designated for assignment to clear a 40-man roster spot.
Severino, 21, will wear uniform No. 40 and figures to finally give that number a permanent home — Sergio Santos, Kyle Davies, Branden Pinder, Matt Tracy, Joel De La Cruz, and Cole Figueroa have all worn No.
