The Yankees were fortunate the schedule-maker delivered the pitching-poor Angels to The Bronx on Wednesday evening and that Joe Girardi decided to give Chris Parmelee his first start as a Yankee.
For his second consecutive start, Nathan Eovaldi was spanked, but thanks to the Yankees punishing Jered Weaver and two homers by Parmelee, they were able to overcome Eovaldi and post a 12-6 victory that was witnessed by an announced Yankee Stadium crowd of 31,557.
The victory was the 29-30 Yankees’ third straight against the Angels and puts them in position for a four-game sweep Thursday night when Ivan Nova faces Jhoulys Chacin.
