Remember when the New York Yankees‘ first baseman Mark Teixeira came into Spring Training saying he is in the best shape he has been in for a long time? Remember when he said he was capable of 30 home runs and 100 RBI’s because of his new diet? Well the notoriously slow starter Teixeira is proving his words were not the typical preseason hype.
Teixeira already has eight home runs and it is still April. His torrid pace would certainly put him near his goals for the season. All of the critics laughed off Tex’s comments because he hasn’t been near those numbers since 2011 where he hit 39 home runs and batted in 111 runners.
