Yankees' Michael Pineda has perfect game through 5 innings vs. Rays

NEW YORK -- Perfect Pineda?

Yankees starting pitcher Michael Pineda had a perfect game going through five innings against the Rays at Yankee Stadium on Monday.

The tall righty needed just 50 pitches through his first four innings, striking out four. In the fifth, Pineda whiffed another two for seven total Ks. The Yankees were ahead, 2-0, after five.

Six of his strikeouts have come on sliders. The other was on a fastball.

The Yankees got an RBI double from Jacoby Ellsbury in the first inning and a solo home run from Aaron Judge in the fourth.
