The New York Yankees came into the year as one of the favorites in the American League, while AJ Hinch and the Detroit Tigers looked destined for another season at the bottom of the AL Central. That hasn’t stopped the Tigers from sweeping the vaunted, albeit injures, Yankees in their homestand over the weekend.
The Tigers were practically begging the Yankees to take control of this game. They rested several key offensive contributors, and starting pitcher Tarik Skubal came into the game with a 1-7 record and a 5.
