BALTIMORE — Manny Machado’s days with the Orioles are almost certainly about to come to an end.
While teams like the Dodgers, Brewers and Phillies have emerged among the favorites to land the best position player on the market, the Yankees showed when they swooped in to trade for Giancarlo Stanton in December, they can never be discounted when one of the best players in the game is available.
On Monday, The Athletic reported the Yankees had “increased interest” in trading for Machado as the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline approaches.
