ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Joe Girardi's only regret about getting ejected was probably that he didn't do it early enough to miss Masahiro Tanaka pitch.
Tanaka got blown up -- again -- and Girardi blew up in the Yankees' 9-5 loss to the Rays at Tropicana field on Friday.
Tanaka was terrible, giving up three home runs and six earned runs in just three innings. He gave up nine hits and three walks while striking out four to watch his season ERA jump to 6.56. He's surrendered 10 homers in his last four starts.
When Girardi finally pulled him, the Yankees were down, 6-3, with two men on.
