NEW YORK -- All those things that had gone right when the Yankees were hot?
Just about none of them happened in Monday's 7-1 loss to the Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium before an announced paid attendance of 25,556 fans -- or, in other words, almost nobody.
Staring pitcher Luis Severino, who had been so good, stunk. The bats, which had carried them, collapsed. The bullpen, for so long a strength, was a weakness.
Meanwhile, Toronto looked more like the surging Yankees, belting a trio of homers to support a strong effort from starting pitcher Marco Estrada, who gave up just a run and seven hits with five strikeouts in six innings.
