As the Dallas Keuchel to the Yankees rumors continue to heat up Severino continues to make small strides towards a return to the starting rotation. Sevy has yet to pitch in a game for the Yanks this season, but if everything continues to go well with his rehab a return in mid to late July looks likely as GM Brian Cashman projected.
According to multiple reports including one from Bryan Hoch of MLB.com the next step for Severino is to throw on back to back days. After resting his arm on Tuesday he’s scheduled to make another 50 throws from 60 feet today so hopefully, it won’t be long before he can do so on back to back days and then eventually start throwing off a mound instead of on flat ground.
