Alex Rodriguez, who in June became the 29th player to reach 3,000 hits, was honored by the Yankees for that milestone accomplishment before Sunday’s game with Toronto.
Rodriguez, accompanied by family members, received a commemorative crystal vase, presented by Yankees COO Lonn Trost, plus a 14 carat white gold ring embedded with “3000” in diamonds from managing general partner Hal Steinbrenner.
Rodriguez was accompanied by his mother, Lourdes Navarro, his brother, Joe, sister, Suzy Dunand, and his daughters, Ella and Natasha. His daughters received pendants celebrating the historic June 19 home run off Detroit’s Justin Verlander.
