Yankees' Justus Sheffield reacts to rough spring, being early cut

TAMPA -- Justus Sheffield was in the dumps while emptying his spring training locker at Steinbrenner Field into two tote bags as the Yankees were batting in the ninth inning of Thursday's 7-6 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Getting lit up on the mound and then immediately cut counts as a really bad day.

One of the best pitching prospects in baseball, the young left-hander was mad at himself after allowing three runs over 1 2/3-innings, then bummed that there won't be more 2018 spring tomorrows to make up for it.
