Yankees' Joe Girardi: Here's the bright spot in Red Sox split

BOSTON -- Yankees manager Joe Girardi preaches the virtues of trying to win every series his team plays.

And though the Yankees haven't captured one in nine tries -- their longest dry spell since 2013 -- Girardi found a way to find a bright spot in splitting a four-game set with the Red Sox following Sunday night's 3-0 loss before a packed Fenway Park.

"Yes, that we're going in the right direction," Girardi said. "I think part of that was getting our bullpen back on track, getting some people healthy and we did that in a sense this weekend.
