The Yankees might be reaching into the college ranks for their next pitching coach.
ESPN.com reports that the Yankees, who parted ways with Larry Rothschild this week, have interviewed Michigan pitching coach Chris Fetter for the same position on Aaron Boone’s staff. ESPN’s Jeff Passan describes Fetter as a “rising star in the industry” and stated the Mets have also had interest in Fetter, though it is unclear in what role.
Before joining the Wolverines in 2017, Fetter was the minor-league pitching coordinator for the Dodgers for six months and was a scout for the Angels for three years.
