Mark Teixeira left Monday’s game in the sixth inning after fouling a ball off his right leg and he was still limping after the game and his leg was wrapped tightly.
“Right below the knee,” Teixeira said. “Just a bad spot. Hopefully, it feels better (Tuesday). It just hurts to put any pressure on it right now.
“You don’t want to get hit there.”
Teixeira had X-rays, which the club said were negative. Joe Girardi said Teixeira was “day-to-day.”
Teixeira finished the at-bat in which he was hurt, drawing a walk. He limped to first and Joe Girardi met him there and took him out of the game.
