ATLANTA — Stephen Drew has flirted with the .200 mark several times this season, even reaching it during a game last week. But until Sunday, he hadn’t walked off the field with his average sitting above the Mendoza Line.
Drew had a monster game Sunday, going 4-for-4 with two walks, a home run, three runs scored and four RBI as the Yankees battered the Braves, 20-6. He finished the day hitting .201.
“I’m not worried about it,” Drew said of his much-talked-about average. “I think just looking at my at-bats, having good at-bats where the outcome is sometimes going to be there and sometimes not — you’re going to line out.
