TAMPA – Is this the season Michael Pineda finally puts it all together?
The hulking righthander posted another strong start Saturday, holding the Braves to one run on four hits over four innings, striking out four without issuing a walk.
Things might not have gone so well if not for some stellar defense by the Yankees’ outfield in the first inning. Left fielder Chris Denorfia threw out a runner at the plate for the second out of the frame, while Jacoby Ellsbury robbed Nick Swisher of an extra-base hit with a superb diving catch in right-center to end the inning.
